Becoming A Successful Trader And Investor

During the course of various jobs and the people that I have interacted with. When it comes to trading and investing, a great majority expressed interest (presumably for the money). However, a great majority of those never took the next step.

Trading and investing appeals to a certain type of character and personality, similiar to some people who are attracted to certain hobbies or interests like cycling, soccer, basketball or traveling.

As a side note, the 2018 World Cup is almost upon us. Many world class players who command huge transfer fees and salary are certainly all passionate about the game, certainly no less stellar than the star traders and fund managers.

The problem is there is no blueprint for being a successful trader or investor. In these days of instant gratification, internet and instant Google answers, many seek immediate results without putting in the required effort. The rise of the 'instant culture' could be a boon for the true blue traders and investors.  Firstly, there may be more inexperienced traders and investors willing to jump in for a swim test. Secondly, lesser competition as more people are turned off by the non instant gratification experience and attraction of other 'soup-of-the-day' careers, activities and interests.

Passion is one of the critical element that gives rise to mastery. If you want to be successful in something in the long term, passion is needed. Regardless if it is in trading and investing or any other areas.
